TEDx is Changing the World

TEDx, locally organized events licensed by TED, are changing the world. People are coming together under the TED platform and with TED’s guidance to start conversations, solve problems, share ideas, and make change. When diverse groups of engaged people come together around big ideas, the collective energy and enthusiasm sparks passion for doing. Watch the following videos of TEDxers from around the world talking about what moved them to organize a TEDx event in their communities.

Quite a diverse range of opinions emerged as TEDxTampaBaySalon attendees discussed Helen Fisher’s The Brain in Love.  Are we controlled by our biology or does our prefrontal cortex help us resist primal urges? Thanks to the behavioral and neurology experts in attendance with their scientific insights into love, everyone learned a bit about the brain, behavior, and current theories about how individuals make choices. The Benjamin Zander talk on music and passion gave everyone the opportunity, classical music fan or not, the opportunity to internalize Chopin for a few minutes — very powerful!

Thanks to everyone who hung out with us on Monday night.
