The Three A’s of Awesome

TEDxToronto Presenter, Neil Pasricha, who is also the author of the blog 1000 Awesome Things and the new book The Book of Awesome, reminds us that we choose every day how to act and react to things that impact our lives.  When faced with sad news, we can sulk with self-pity or we can focus on the good in the world and move ahead.  That’s what Neil has done and now he’s sharing his philosophy with the world through his blog, his book and now his TEDx Talk.

Benoît Mandelbrot, TED 2010 Presenter, Has Passed Away

Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules, which are repeated without end

Benoît Mandelbrot , a prominent mathematician who coined the term ‘fractal’ has passed away at the age of 85.  In his presentation, he talks about what inspired him.  His inspiration to think big started at age eleven when he realized that he may die at the hands of the Nazis in German occupied France.  Watch his amazing TED 2010 talk on Fractals and the Art of Roughness.

Cool New Way to View TED Talks

Chris Anderson, via Twitter, highlighted the bestiario.org website, which offers an interesting visual navigational interface for exploring TED Talks.  Organized in a spherical presentation, the site groups talks around the tags associated with each talk.   I really like the nav tab, which allows you to browse talks by specific tags.  To watch the video, you can click on the link to the video in the navigation menu, which takes you to directly to the TED video on TED.com.
