TEDxTampaBaySalon July Highlights

What a fun event!  The theme of this month’s event was “The Power of Stories”.  After watching two inspirational TED Talks on how stories bring people together, we engaged in a participatory storytelling session of our own.  The stories were diverse, personal, and powerful. Participants talked about personal struggles, understanding ourselves, and the accepting ourselves before we ask others to accept us. Some of us talked about how hate results from fear.  Others had great ideas for continuing the conversation throughout the community.  One participant shared insights into how we seek ideas, things, and people with which we are already familiar.
