From TEDxWindyCity: Don Martinelli Talks About Whole Brain Thinking

Don Martinelli, a Theatre Professor at Carnegie Mellon University, Presented via Skype (instead of a live stage presentation) at TEDxWindyCity back in February 2010 due to ‘snowmagedon’.  Don, who received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tampa, went on to study Clinical Psychology before receiving his PhD in theatre history, literature, and criticism.  Don is a self-proclaimed technology enthusiast and therefore is not fearful of technology.  In fact, for the past few years, he has been working with the computer science department.  What is truly inspiring about Don’s presentation is his natural, human approach to marrying the arts and sciences (severed from each other in educational institutions).  According to Don, the idea of whole brain thinking (Right brain + left brain = whole brain thinking) leads to craftsmanship, a seamless partnership of the arts and science.  Think Renaissance artisans and craftsmen and you’ll understand what Don is striving to achieve!
